The Copperheads (4-14) took one win and one loss against the Muskegon Clippers (9-9) in their double header at home.
The Copperheads took game one of the double header at home. They had three runs and eight hits. The Clippers had zero runs, three hits.
Brody Mann (#8) pitched all seven innings for the Copperheads. He had six strikeouts, two walks and three hits by pitch.
At the bottom of the first, Eli Mandler (#18) singled to center field. He advanced to second on a passed ball and eventually advanced to third. Mandler scored off a hit from Zach Reeder (#2) to bring the Cheads up 1-0 to end the first.
At the bottom of the fourth, Brady Kaufman (#25) hit a triple to left field. Josh Caudill flied out to right field, allowing Kaufman to score, bringing the Copperheads up 2-0. Cole Davis (#23) doubled to left field and Landon Baker (#11) walked to first. Jayden Kennedy (#6) struck out to end the inning. The Clippers continued to struggle and were unable to respond.
During the sixth inning, Josh Caudill (#17) singled to left field and Davis grounded out to ss, allowing Caudill to advance to second. Konnor Pittman (#14) grounded out to the pitcher and Caudill scored to pull the Copperheads up 3-0 heading into the seventh inning.
Mann ended the game when he struck out Clippers Johnnie Gifford, giving the Copperheads a 3-0 win. Mann was the Wings Over Player of the Game.
The Clippers took game two in the double header. The Copperheads had zero runs, two hits and three errors. The Clippers had four runs, three hits and one error.
Rylan Sams (#16) pitched all seven innings of the second game for the Copperheads. He had six strikeouts.
The Clippers were able to score in the top of the first, bringing them up 1-0.
Neither team was able to score during the middle innings. The Clippers put three runs on the board late in the top of the seventh inning to bring them up 4-0.
In the bottom of the seventh, Reeder was able to reach third but the Cheads final attempt to score would be shut down by the Clippers. The Clippers took the second game of the double header, 4-0.
Reeder was the Wings Over Player of the Game. He had one double.

Established in 2002, the Copperheads is a summer collegiate wooden bat baseball team that competes in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and plays its home games at Bob Wren Stadium in Athens, OH. The Copperheads organization strives to provide the most affordable means of family-friendly outdoor entertainment in southeast Ohio. Tickets to the Copperheads games are $5 and children under the age of 5 receive free admission. Staffed by Ohio University students, the Southern Ohio Copperheads also serve as a “learning lab” for student interns looking to work in the sport and entertainment industry.
