The Copperheads home-opener is approaching and there are plenty of things for the fans to look forward to for the 25th season.
There are several theme nights planned for throughout the season, which will include specific promotions and games for fans to enjoy. Some of the themes include: Toy Story Night, Turn it Gold Game, Superhero Night, Little League Night, and many more.
The Copperheads have made some of these theme nights into tradition, such as the fan-favorite Beach Night. However, the staff is excited to introduce a few new themes to the list. General Manager Derrick Welsh said the Copperheads are proud to announce Shawna Stump State Farm Toy Story Night as one of the new themes for this season.
“With Toy Story 5 coming out just days after the game, it’s a perfect night to bring out the family to see Woody and Buzz and many more Toy Story activities,” Welsh said.
There will be a toy drive during Toy Story Night on June 10th. A lot of the theme nights have initiatives to honor or give back to the community in some form. CASA Superhero Night on June 19th is no different, with plans to honor real-life superheroes like veterans and first responders. Little League Night will highlight youth players, and teams are able to sign up to go on the field.
“We are excited to make the night special for the youth players who look up to Copperheads players,” Welsh said.
Fans are encouraged to dress along with the theme for these games and participate in the various activities. The season begins in just a few weeks and the Copperheads are ready for an unforgettable 25th season at Bob Wren Stadium.

The Southern Ohio Copperheads is a community-owned, student-operated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Established in 2002, the Copperheads is a summer collegiate wooden bat baseball team that competes in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and plays its home games at Bob Wren Stadium in Athens, OH. The Copperheads organization strives to provide the most affordable means of family-friendly outdoor entertainment in southeast Ohio. Tickets to the Copperheads games are $5 and children under the age of 5 receive free admission. Staffed by Ohio University students, the Southern Ohio Copperheads also serve as a “learning lab” for student interns looking to work in the sport and entertainment industry.
